School Rules & Regulations

1. Students must be in the School premises at least 20 minutes before the Assembly.

2. When the first bell rings, all the students are to assemble in the school assembly place. Change of classes must be done in silence and order. 3. Because of the high standards of English required for the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE/ISC), English will be spoken at all times in the School premises as further opportunity for practice. Students consistently breaking this rule are liable to dismissal.

4. Tutorial classes are conducted in the school for weaker students depending upon the needs and availability of time.

Those who are found taking private tuition are liable to be dismissed.

5. Gentlemanliness and ladylike respect towards all are characteristics of a Xavierian. On their way to and from the School all are expected to behave in a gentlemanly manner. All must be tidy in dress and should enter the School only in the School Uniform.

6. Shouting, whistling and running about are not allowed in the School premises. It is strictly forbidden to throw anything at each other.

7. The school is yours. Look after it. Scratching or spoiling school furniture, writing with chalk or pencil on the walls, or in any way damaging what belongs to others, is highly reprehensible behavior. Students will be fined duly and suspended for such acts.

8. Books other than text books such as comics, magazines and newspapers are not allowed in the school premises.

9. Money should not be lent or borrowed or articles be given in exchange. The school is not responsible for things lost. It is not advisable to bring valuable articles to School.

10. Students are expected to join in the various games and tournaments organized at the school level, but they must be regular in attending once they have given their names.

11. Great care is taken to form the character of the pupils, to inspire them with a love for religion and morality, to help them to become agents of needed social change in the country; to train them to be gentlemen and women and to acquire habits of cleanliness and order, to prepare them to be good and loyal citizens of India.

12. Report on general progress is given at the end of each term.

13. Pupils whose conduct is injurious to the moral tone of the School or incompatible with strict discipline are liable to be dismissed, in particular, stealing and cheating will be dealt with very sternly.

14. Students whose presence in the opinion of the Principal is not beneficial or whose application is unsatisfactory or whose parents show little interest in their progress will be requested to be withdrawn from the school.

15. Students must prepare their daily lessons and tasks at home, spend an hour and a half in home study before class and two hours after class. Parents and Guardians are requested to enforce the adherence of this rule at home. Let them also insists on punctuality in their daily class.

16. Parents should inform the authorities if their child is suffering from any physical ailment, which makes it essential for the authorities to be aware of.

17. Students should not leave the School premises during the class hours without the permission of the principal.

18. Parents should not visit the class teacher without the permission of the Principal/vice principal.

19. All fees must be paid in advance. The date for payment is not later than the 15th of the month or as indicated in the School Calendar. A fine will be-imposed for delay in paying. i.e.Rs.10/- after the due date and in addition of Rs.10/- for each subsequent month. A student may be sent home without prior notice for irregular payment of fees.

20. Girls who do not stay with their own parents will not be allowed to study in this School.

21. A student who leaves the school before 1.40/3.35 p.m. will be considered absent on that day.

22. Articles, other than study materials brought to the school will be confiscated and a fine will be imposed on the student.

23. Electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited. Articles once confiscated will not be returned.


The School Uniform

1. School uniform consists of white shirt, navy blue pants, navy blue socks, black shoes, tie and badge. Navy blue skirts worn by girls, must be long enough to reach below the knees.

2. During the cold season, blazers, if they are worn are to be solid navy blue, sweaters with sleeves are to be solid navy blue. Girls are supposed to wear jackets.

3. In winter, machine-knit navy blue sweaters and blazers are advised.

4. Discolored uniforms are not allowed.

8. A student returning to school after recovering from an infectious disease should produce a doctor’s certificate permitting him/her to do so.

9. If a student is absent for more than three days he/she must submit a medical certificate.

10. Leave will not be granted for festivals and for visits to relatives, for marriage of relatives and medical check-ups of others.


Absence & Tardiness

1. No one who is late or has been absent on the previous day may be admitted to class without the permission of the permission of the Principal.

2. Repeated absence without leave renders a student liable to a fine.

3. Students who do not return on time at the beginning of the term will be fined Rs. 50/- for the first day, Rs. 15/- for each subsequent day. Repeated absence in the beginning of every term will lead to suspension from the school.

4. If a student is absent for more 10 consecutive days without any prior information to the school, his/her name is automatically struck off from the school Register and if he/ she wants to come back he/she must take a re admission. Note: Alleged postal mishap is not taken into consideration.

5. A student who is absent for more than 10% of the total class days will not be allowed to appear for the final examination and will not be promoted.

6. A student who is regular in attending the classes will be asked to leave the school.

7. A student who is absent, on his/her return, must bring a letter explaining the absence should be noted in the School Dairy too.
