Examination & Promotions

1. There will be two unit tests of 10% each and two semester examinations of 30% each. In addition to the test and examinations, attendance and participation in co-curricular activities and competitions will also be counted for promotion. 10% marks are given for attendance.

2. Students who have 100% attendance will get 10 marks; those who have 97% attendance will get 8 marks, 6 marks for those having 95% attendance and 5 marks for 90% attendance.

3. Irregular students will not get marks for attendance.

4. Behaviour is another criterion for promotion. Though separate marks are not awarded for behaviour, a good grade in behaviour will surely weigh in your favour.

5. Social concern is an important aspect of education in this school and students who involve themselves in social work will get consideration for promotion.

6. If a student fails to attend a test/examination without prior permission and sufficient reason he/she will lose 20% of the total marks of the final examination and may be even asked to repeat the class.

7. Medical certificates, in case of sickness, must be submitted while the examination is in progress or soon after the examination. Otherwise, such certificates will not be considered. It is left to the discretion of the Principal to accept or reject medical certificate.

8. A student must get 50% marks in every subject to get a pass.

9. A student who fails in English will not get a promotion.

10. No student will be allowed to repeat a class for more than one years.

11. A student who gets less than 25% marks in final examination will be asked to be withdrawn from the school.

12. In all questions of promotion or failure, the Principal’s decision is final.

13. Any student caught using unfair means or trying to use unfair means in examination or trying to tamper with evaluated answer scripts or report cards to will lose promotion that academic year and may face dismissal from the school.

14. Criteria for Pass will be :

PASS (a)50% marks in every paper, and

(b)Grade ‘D’ at least in other aspects. (Please see the report card)
PROMOTIONS a) 50% marks each in both the papers of English.

b) 50% marks in all others except two.

c) Grade ‘D’ at least in other aspects.

d) If a student fails in a particular Subject consecutively for 3 years. Promotion will be withheld.

ROLL OF HONOUR

Class 6 to 9 a) 85% or above marks without any failure.
b) Grade ‘A’: in at least 6 and Grade ‘B’ for the rest of personal Social qualities and attitudes.
c) Grade ‘A’ in 2 out of 8 co-curricular activities.
d) Grade ‘A’ : in 2 out of 4 outdoor activities.
e) 97% attendance.
f) Fee clearance in time.
Class 1 to 5 a) 90% or above marks in all subjects without any failure.
b) To (f) as above 98% or above marks without any failure.
K.G.I & K.G. II c) Fee clearance in time.

ROLL OF MERIT

Class 6 to 9 a) 80% or above marks in all subjects without any failure.
b) Grade ‘B’ in at least 5 out of 10 personal Social qualities and attitude.
c) Grade ‘B’ in 2 out of 8 co-curricular activities.
d) Grade ‘B’ in 2 out of 4 outdoor activities.
e) 95% attendance.
f) Fee clearance in time.
Class 1 to 5 a) 85% or above marks in all subjects without any failure.
b) Grade ‘C’ in at least 5 out of 10 personal Social qualities.

RULES TO BE FOLLOWED IN THE EXAMINATION HALL

• Students must come in school uniform for examinations.

• Once the Assembly is over, you are supposed to go silently to the examination hall and take your seat.

• You must bring whatever is necessary to appear for the examination. You will not be allowed to ask anything from your neighbours.

• Mathematical instrument box brought in must be kept open and must not contain any formula printed on them.

• As soon as you receive an answer sheet, you have to write your name, class and roll number on it.

• First 15 minutes are given for you to read and understand the questions. Make the best use of this time.

• Doubts must be clarified during the first 15 minutes. You must not seek any help from the teacher after the lapse of this 15 minutes.

• Clarifications must be restricted to misprints. Missing words and prints which are not clear.

• You must not leave space in between answers. If space is left inadvertently, such space must be crossed with pen before you hand over the paper.

• You must not write anything on the question paper.

• You have to put your pen down as soon as you are told to stop writing. You will lose 5 marks if you fail to do so.

• Those who finish earlier must read the answers and correct the mistakes.

• Seeking help from teachers after the lapse 15 minutes, talking to your neighbors or asking for pencil, eraser etc. from your friends and turning to your friends for help can be taken as attempts to cheat and such students can be expelled from the examination hall.

PAPER RECHECK

1. Great care is taken to see that answer papers are corrected well and marks added correctly.

2. Answer papers will not be shown to any outsider for inspection and parents are requested not bring any body to check the papers.

3. Guardians may request for recheck of papers in writing with a fee of Rs. 75 per paper within 3 days of publication of the result. Request for recheck will not be entertained after this date. The recheck will be done and the result conveyed to the concerned parent within three days of submission of application, the decision of school in this regard is final.

4. Writing anything other than the answers on the answer scripts, changing the mars awarded and any attempt to cheat will lead to suspension for a week.

5. Evaluated answer scripts of all the examination except 2nd semester will be sent home for inspection by the parents. Those papers must be sent back the next day after signing.
