About Us

ST. XAVIER’S RAIGANJ is founded and is run by “ Dumka Jesuits Society Raiganj,” a minority Christian Charitable Society registered under the Society’s Registration Act 1860, having its headquarters at Telghani, Raiganj.

St. Xavier’s Raiganj is a Private Christian Minority School. It is affiliated to the Council for Indian school certificate Examinations, New Delhi, a statutory Body recognized by the Govt. of India for conducting Matric and Inter level examinations.

The Jesuit School thus aims at making its own contribution towards a transformation of present day social conditions so that the principles of social justice, equality of opportunities, genuine freedom, respect for religious and moral values enshrined in the Constitution of India may prevail and the possibility of living a fully human existence may be open to all.

The medium of Instruction is English, which is the international language today. The complete curriculum comprises English, Hindi, Bengali, History, Geography, Economics, Social Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Modern Governments, Computer Science. Healthy attitudes and development of spiritual values are given great importance and regularly imparted to the students through the teaching of Moral Science, games, yoga and by holding Orientation Programme.
